The Five Best Simpsons Collectables Ever

It is my own personal belief that there isn’t a single person alive (or dead) on this planet that doesn’t love The Simpsons, and if anybody out there says that they don’t then they are simply lying to themselves.

Bart, Homer, Marge, Lisa, and Maggie have adorned everything from lunchboxes to life size replicas since almost as soon as the world’s most loved animated family hit the airwaves. The world of Simpsons collectables is a varied and diverse one, overflowing with everything from sneakers to pinball machines, stuffed plush Krusty the Clowns and bedside table lamps.

In at number 5 we have these Homer Simpson Plush slippers, my mother always told me that these kind of slippers were dangerous, and that I’d fall and break my neck, and as such I was never allowed any, but if you were lucky enough to own a pair of these as a kid, and unlucky enough to fall and break your neck, well at least you’d die with a strange little smile on your face. Because lets face it, it’s impossible to look upon the image of Homer Simpson without smiling, he just has that kind of face, especially when he’s preparing to chow down on your feet.

Well mother I’m all grown up now, and I’ll wear whatever slippers I damn well please. (Sneaks off to go and place a bid) :)

Who wouldn’t want to pop down to Moe’s for a cheeky mug of Duff with Homer, drain their sorrows with Barney and party hard with Duffman, well now you can, well, no actually you can’t, but for a limited time you could grab yourself a case of a Duff beer style spin-off in the form of a Simpsons branded energy drink. This Duff style energy drink was only available for a limited run and as such is becoming a sought after Simpsons collectable.

Taking things up a notch now, because slippers and energy drinks are all very nice but for the serious Simpsons memorabilia collector it’s going to take a whole other level of Simpsons collectable to impress. Which is why this full size coin operated ‘Simpsons Pinball Party’ pinball machine is in at number three, produced by ‘STERN’ this Simpsons pinball machine features many of your favourite Simpsons characters, a two-level playing arena, and special game modes influenced by classic Simpsons episodes.

(2) The Simpsons Collectables – Life-Size Simpsons Couch Theatre Display

Of all The Simpsons collectables I’ve come across this one is by far my own personal favourite, the couch scene has set the stage for every single episode of The Simpsons ever aired, and specifically designed with space for one more who wouldn’t want to slouch down on this couch to watch a bit of telly with the Simpsons.

Only 1500 of these rare Simpsons theatre displays were produced making it one of the most sought after Simpsons collectables out there. This life-size display was never sold in stores but was released to selected theatres throughout the U.S. to promote the Simpsons movie. Made from heavy plastic polymer this Simpsons couch display measures 12 feet long, weighs approximately 400lbs and looks amazing.

I would so love this item, but unfortunately with it having a buy-it-now price of $5000 and the fact that I would need to ship this colossal beast to the UK, which would probably triple the cost again, for me this Simpsons collectable will have to remain a dream.

(1) The Simpsons Collectables – The Simpsons Boeing 737

This has to be the ultimate Simpsons collectable ever made, in 1995 the newly formed budget airline ‘Western Pacific’ painted a number of its Boeing 737’s with unusual paint schemes, the most notable of which was the Simpson’s aircraft, boldly emblazoned with the characters of the FOX Television Networks prime-time cartoon The Simpson’s.

It is rumoured that the Simpsons creator Matt Groening refused to take the first flight, as he thought it was going to crash and didn't want to die in such a situation.
