Superman Collectables – Rare Superman Collectibles for Fans and Collectors

Who is the best Superhero of all time? This is the question I was searching Google for earlier today keen to see how others felt about this. Well, one thing led to another and it didn’t take long before I found myself on eBay checking out some of coolest and rarest Superman collectables ever released.
But first, who is the best Superhero of all time? Well needless to say there were many contenders put forward for the crown, but with literally hundreds of people putting forward their opinions it seemed to come down to a head-to-head battle between just two of the most famous Superhero’s of all time. Batman V’s Superman, some believed that Superman could burn a whole in Batman’s head with his heat vision from several miles away rendering the Batman out of the contest, others believed that Batman with all his gadgets and money would whip himself up a solid Kryptonite suit and with a few ‘Biffs’ and ‘Kapows’ would send Superman flying home with his tail between his legs.

Rare Superman Collectable Comics

That famous red and yellow diamond on its striking blue background is a symbol of all that is good, and it’s also a symbol of ‘Ka-ching, Ka-ching, Ka-ching!’ Superman is without doubt one of the most heavily marketed comic creations of all time, with probably hundreds of thousands of Superman collectables having been released since the birth of the Superman franchise.
I love superheroes, who doesn’t, and Superman will always hold a special place in my heart, but do you know who else I love, ‘He-Man’, so when I came across this rare superman collectable comic featuring Superman Duking it out He-Man I nearly wet my pants with joy.
DC Presents 47 – The first He-Man and the Masters of the Universe with Superman Crossover released in 1982, how cool is that. A quick search on the internet reveals that the story contained within goes a little something like:
Prince Adam is at a tavern with Cringer when a huge man approaches him, picking a fight. Adam readily accepts this challenge, but Teela breaks it up before it gets good. Hearing the cry of the falcon, Adam and Cringer bolt off to the Cave of Power, where they meet with the Sorceress in her snake outfit and become He-Man and Battle Cat. Meanwhile, Skeletor inadvertantly causes a dimensional rift between Earth and Eternia while trying to open Grayskull, and Superman is sucked through. Superman ends up taking on Skeletor and Beast Man until He-Man, Battle Cat, and Man-At-Arms arrive, where Skeletor then puts a spell on Superman to fight with He-Man. Superman barely disables He-Man temporarily, then stops Skeletor. Afterward, Supes returns to Earth via a space warp.
I love crossover comics, Spiderman V’s The Hulk, Alien V’s Predator, In fact just about anybody V’s just anybody else and I’m hooked, so as far as great Superman collectables go, for me this is a winner (sneaks off to go bid).

Vintage Superman LunchBox

Now I know I would have loved to have taken my lunch to school in one of these amazing vintage Superman Collectable lunchboxes as a kid, but the truth is by the time I’d started going to school this lunchbox would have already been about 15 years old. Released in 1967 this Superman collectable lunchbox is an amazing 42 years old (at time of writing) and still looks in amazing condition. With a buy it now price of $225 this is no cheap lunchbox, but as far as Superman Collectables go, this one is definetly on my Christmas wish-list (just check out the artwork on this vintage bad-boy).
* However in terms of cost this collectable Superman lunchbox from 1954 is even more valuable, with 12 bids, 2 days to go, and a current auction price of $460.

Superman Collectables - Life-Size Superman Statue

And finally, whilst we’re here, it seems only right to take a look at the most expensive Superman collectable currently for sale on eBay. Well, here you have it, a life-size Superman statue of the Christopher Reeves kind, based on the 1978 movie release and featuring glass eyes this is actually a fairly realistic and pretty cool Superman statue.
However, as Superman collectables go I’m just not sure that this one is for me, and with a price tag of $3,695.00 I don’t think I’ll be bidding on this one anytime soon.
