Humanoid in nature the Predator(s) are imposing in stature, and feature long hair like appendages, and mandibles. The Predator(s) are incredibly tough and are known to easily survive wounds that would quickly prove fatal to a human. And with a wealth of technologically advanced weaponry at their disposal, in addition to their super-human strength, the Predator are a race of beings to be feared.
Following the hunt from planet to planet the Predator seek out combatants against which to test their skills, collecting the skulls of their opponents if bested as trophies. Because the Predator do not hunt for food, but for sport.
Equipped with thermal imagery, cloaking device, and all manner of arms (including a suicide nuclear explosive) the Predator of science fiction cinema was partially inpspired by the ‘El Demonio que hace trofeos de los hombres’ of Latin American legend, also known as ‘The Demon who makes trophies of men’.
And like these creatures of folklore the Predator normally avoid attacking creatures that are not deemed worthy of their attentions, sparing the likes of children, the pregnant, and the elderly.

Seemingly more popular than ever the Predator has starred in five movies to date (and counting): Predators 1 & 2, Alien V’s Predator, Alien V’s Predator: Requiem, and Predators.
