The Wisdom of Yoda
"May the Force be with You!"
He may be small, green and look a little like a distant geriatric relative of Kermit the frog but Yoda the master Jedi has given us some of the most profound Zen like wisdom ever caught on camera. Proof that beauty really is only skin deep Yoda is without doubt the most powerful and loveable Jedi within the Star Wars universe. Created by the make-up designer 'Stuart Freeborn' Yodas appearance is based on a mix of that of his creator and of 'Albert Einstein'.
Whilst many of the characters within the Star Wars universe have been gifted with elaborate back stories Yodas history is shrouded in mystery, even the alien race from which Yoda was born is labelled merely as 'species unknown'.
The wisdom and quotes of Yoda are often regarded as being very 'Zen' like in substance; Zen is a specific school of Buddhism that is often known simply as 'the path to enlightenment'.
One story regarding the inspiration behind Yodas creation tells of a professor 'Yoshikata Yoda' a movie script writer who met with George Lucas at a lecture in San Francisco, it is said that upon meeting Yoshikata Yoda, George Lucas informed the professor that 'you have very funny ears.'

Yoda Quote 1: “Do or do not... there is no try.”

My ten-year-old is obsessed with Star Wars trivia, and loves to talk like Yoda. He can do a pretty passable impression, which is funny the first five or six times......
ReplyDeleteI always like Yoda more than the other jedi's, maybe except Obi Won. Me myself is more interested in the mystery of the sith. Nevertheless, you did a heck of job on this piece.
