Earnie's Rubber Duckie
One of the most famous of all rubber ducks is the one much loved by 'Earnie', a muppet from the hit show 'Sesame Street'. Earnie's yellow rubber ducky made frequent appearances on the children's TV favorite 'Sesame Street', with the song "Rubber Duckie" being a frequent part of Earnie's repertoire.

Rubber duck racing has become a popular activity at charitable events (and otherwise) in recent years, large quantities of rubber ducks often numbering in their thousands are dumped into a water body such as a river and raced, with often large prizes being awarded to the owner of the winning duck. The famous 'Halifax Duck Derby' of Canada sets over 10,000 rubber ducks against each other, and features a top prize of 1 million Canadian dollars, whilst the 'Great British Duck Race' held in London, Hampton Court Palace each year counted more than 250,000 plastic ducks in number in 2008, and rewards winners with cash prizes, in addition to raising money for charities.

But of course rubber duck racing doesn't need to be huge, and makes the perfect fun event for any school fete, festival, or organised event.

I have purchased so many rubber ducks thru the years. 3 kids ya know? I like the ones that come with little baby ducks, they can sit on the momma's back, or float around behind her. The one thing that stinks about the squeaky ones, is water alwasy gets inside them, and it gets icky after a while, then your kid goes to squeak them and gross brown flecks fly out.(eww!!) I would recommend solid rubber ducks. And now I want one with a crown, by the way. :)
