Arguably the cutest characters of the Toy Story movies are the ‘Space Aliens’ (also known as the ‘Squeeze Toy Aliens’, and/or the ‘Pizza Planet Aliens’). Three eyed little green men whose race inhabit the inside of the grabber machine, and who believe that should they be ‘chosen’ by ‘The Claw’ that they will be taken away to a better place.
Believed to be promotional toys for the ‘Pizza Planet’ restaurant chain, the Aliens are all identical, both in appearance, and in their belief in the Claw. And dressed in their little uniforms the Aliens have appeared in all three of the Toy Story movies currently released.
Like deranged triplets the space Aliens are usually portrayed in groups of three, and are portrayed as being quite simplistic in nature, desiring only to be chosen, and as such are forever seeking out cranes.
In Toy Story 2 the Aliens are almost blown clear out of a trucks open window, but are saved just in time by Mr. Potato Head, who the Space Aliens then form a bond with, stating ‘You have saved our lives, we are eternally grateful!”, and the Aliens are then later adopted by Mrs. Potato Head, much to her husbands dismay.
Often heard exclaiming "ooohh!" in unison, the three green, multi-eyed squeak-toy Aliens feature as scientists for ‘Star Command’ within the straight to video series ‘Buzz Lightyear of Star Command’. And it is ultimately the love that these little green men have for the claw, and cranes in general, that leads to the Aliens being separated from the group at the junk yard towards the end of Toy Story 3, an act that leads them to become the movies heroes, saving the entire gang from the jaws of certain death.
