Mimobots
First launched on the public in 2005 'Mimobots' are highly collectible designer USB flash drives. Pronounced 'Mee-mo-bot' these 1GB to 8GB in size flash drives are usually released in limited edition runs of between 500 and 5,000 units, making the rarest Mimobots highly sought after collectors items. Designed and decorated by leading contemporary character artists Mimobot flash drives like 'Dunnys' have crossed the line from mere toy (or in this case electronic gadget) into something more, a graffiti-esque urban art-form.
In addition to some of the more unusual designs Mimobot USB flash drives often feature the familiar likenesses of popular movie and pop-culture characters, such as: Star Wars, Hello Kitty, Domo and Halo and come pre-loaded with Mimobot specific music, videos, animation and games.
Mimobots - The Back Story
The 'Mimobots' from the planet 'Blooh' have suffered a massive epidemic of memory-loss that threatens their home in galaxy 4210. In order to counteract this epidemic the Mimobots travelled to Earth and have formed a symbiotic relationship with man-kind, providing humans with the means of personal data storage that at the same time transmits 'memergy' back to their home planet via their computer 'RALF'. This they hope will cure the Mimobots collective amnesia.
Star Wars Mimobots
Possibly the most popular series's of Mimobots to date are those based around the legendary 'Star Wars' characters. These Mimobots USB flash drives released through a licensing deal with 'Lucasfilm' are already into their fifth series and going strong. Star Wars Mimobots feature such characters as 'R2-D2', 'Darth Vader', 'Imperial Stormtrooper', 'Chewbacca', 'C-3PO', Luke Skywalker', 'Boba Fett', 'Princess Leia', 'Wicket the Ewok', 'Darth Sidious', 'Darth Maul' and 'Han Solo'.

Hello Kitty Mimobots
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of 'Hello Kitty', 'Mimico' the creators of the Mimobots and 'Sanrio' the creators of Hello Kitty collaborated in the release of a beautifully quirky range of Hello Kitty Mimobots.
Hello Kitty Mimobots were produced in limited edition runs and feature such designs as: 'Fun in Fields', 'Balloon', 'Teddy Bear' and 'Apple'. As with most Mimobots the Hello Kitty series comes with pre-loaded content, such as: icons, avatars, wallpapers and more.
Domo Mimobots
Another licensed release comes in the form of the 'Domo' mimobot series. Domo is the hugely popular Japanese character, and the mascot of Japan's NHK television station, and like 'Hello Kitty' Domo has become a pop-culture fashion icon. Described as "a strange creature that hatched from an egg" Domo is a brown monster like creature with a saw-toothed mouth. Limited edition runs of Domo Mimibot USB flash drives include: 'Standard Domo', 'Ninja Domo' and 'Rasta Domo.

Happy Tree Friends Mimobots
The 'Happy Tree Friends' are characters from a flash cartoon series of the same name, created by Rhode Montijo, Kenn Navarro, Warren Graff, and Aubrey Ankrum the show has become a popular internet phenomenon with a cult like following. Whilst child-friendly in appearance the Happy Tree Friends animation series is extremely violent, and has been compared to 'Itchy and Scratchy' the popular cartoon within a cartoon from 'The Simpsons' TV show.
Happy Tree Friend Mimobots include the following characters: 'Giggles' the pink chipmunk, 'Flippy' the green dog-tag wearing bear, and 'Mole' the blind purple mole wearing dark glasses and carrying a cane.
Halo Mimobots
The hugely popular video game series 'Halo' has also gotten the Mimobot treatment. For those who don't know 'Halo' is a science fiction video game series that centers around the experiences of 'Master Chief' a cybernetically-enhanced super soldier as he struggles to eliminate the threat of invading alien races and parasitic organisms. One of the most popular 'first-person shooters' ever released Halo Mimobots include the characters: 'Captain Chief', 'Blue Spartan, and 'Red Spartan.
Released in Limited edition runs of each character Halo Mimobots are available in 1GB, 2GB and 4GB versions.

Tokidoki Mimobots
As with 'Hello Kitty' and 'Domo' the characters of 'Tokidoki' are yet more much collected pop-culture icons to have made it into the world of Mimobots. 'Tokidoki' is the Japanese inspired life-style brand created by Italian artist 'Simone Legno'. Booted out of hell for being too good the central character 'Adios' wanders the world hand-in-hand with his loving girlfriend 'Ciao' teaching others how to make the most of their lives.
Limited edition Mimobots featuring both Adios and Ciao have been released, with each Mimobot USBflash drive coming pre-loaded with exclusive tokidoki-themed wallpapers, screensavers, and icons.
The shapes of these Mimobots usb flash drives are very cool and nice.
